About Restricting Access to Form Responses

With Studio’s form feature, you can view and manage form responses directly from the Studio dashboard.

You can set view restrictions on form responses for members with editor permissions. Members with these restrictions will not be able to view form responses submitted on the published site.

This feature is useful when you want members to edit the CMS or the editor but do not want them to see form responses. Restrictions can be lifted at any time.

Details of the restrictions:

Allowed Actions

Restricted Actions

  • Placing and editing forms in the editor

  • Checking form functionality using live preview

  • Viewing responses submitted through live preview

  • Overall and individual form settings

  • Downloading data in CSV format, but only for responses submitted through live preview

  • Viewing form responses from the published site

Note: View Restrictions After Downgrading

If you downgrade to the Starter or Free plan, members with view restrictions will be automatically removed from the project. Consider changing permissions before downgrading or re-inviting the members after the switch.

Tips: Other Ways to Set View Restrictions

  • Using Workspaces You can set view restrictions for each member. For more details, refer to the related article.

  • Writer Permissions Writers cannot access the form dashboard, so their view is restricted by default. For more details, refer to the related article.
