What are Advanced Member Permissions?
When inviting members to your project, you can assign one of two roles:
Owner: Full access to all project operations
Editor: Can use the editor and CMS but cannot change plans or view payment history
With Advanced Member Permissions, you can granularly control what individual editors can and cannot do within your project.
Tips:You cannot adjust advanced permissions during the invitation process. Please configure them in the dashboard after the member has joined.
Permission Details
You can grant or restrict access to four different operations. Note: Publishing restrictions are only available on Business Plus plans.
Restrict publishing settings
Restrict editor access
Restrict CMS operations
Restrict form response viewing
These restrictions work independently. For example, if you enable "Restrict form response viewing," the editor can still perform all other operations like using the editor, CMS, and publishing - only form response viewing will be restricted.

How to Change Permissions

Open the [Members] tab
Access the Members tab from your project dashboard.Click on the editor's member permissions
Click on the function restrictions for each member and select the items you want to restrict. Changes take effect immediately.
Important Notes About Downgrading
When downgrading your plan, editors with permissions that aren't available in the lower tier will be automatically removed from the project.
Editors without any restrictions will remain in the project after downgrading. How restricted editors are handled during downgrades:
Plan Change | What Happens |
Downgrading to Business | Editors with publishing restrictions will be automatically removed on the plan change date. |
Downgrading to Personal or below | Any editors with any type of restrictions will be automatically removed on the plan change date. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Advanced Member Permissions be used as a replacement for the legacy Writer role?
Can Advanced Member Permissions be used as a replacement for the legacy Writer role?
A. Advanced Member Permissions cannot exactly replicate the restrictions of the legacy Writer role.
The Writer role in legacy plans (old Business and CMS plans) only allowed access to the CMS dashboard and design editor, with limited operations in both.
When using Advanced Member Permissions with all four restrictions enabled, users can still access all dashboard tabs (Home, CMS, Forms, Analytics, and Plan & Billing), with only the specific operations detailed in this article being restricted.
Key differences between Writer role and fully restricted Advanced Permissions:With Advanced Member Permissions (even with all restrictions enabled), users can still:
Access all dashboard tabs (Home, CMS, Forms, Analytics, Plan & Billing)
