How to Duplicate a Project Linked to a Workspace

Learn how to duplicate a project that’s linked to a workspace in Studio.Design, including what information carries over and what does not. The project’s connection to the workspace is maintained after duplication, but guest access does not transfer.

Who Can Duplicate Projects

Only Workspace Owners are allowed to duplicate projects associated with a workspace.

Data That Is Transferred

The following items will carry over to the duplicated project:

  • Design data

  • Project settings

  • Content found in the [CMS Dashboard]

  • Status as a workspace-linked project

Data That Is Not Transferred

These parts do not carry over:

  • Guest users

  • Site’s published status

  • Domain settings

  • Published status of [CMS items] and [collections]

  • Version history

Important Notes

  • Projects created from paid templates in Studio Store cannot be duplicated.

  • If your workspace already contains three linked projects, you cannot duplicate another.

  • Guest users from the original project are not copied into the duplicate.

  • The workspace linkage stays in place after duplication.

Duplication Steps

  1. Select the project you’d like to duplicate from your workspace or the [Project List].

  2. Click the [⋯] menu next to the project name, then choose [Duplicate].

  3. In the confirmation modal, click [Duplicate].

The new project will appear in your [Project List]. You can edit the name or settings as needed.
