Inviting Users to a Project

Learn how to invite users to your Studio.Design project as members, assign roles, and collaborate together.

In Studio.Design, you can invite other users to a "project" (where you create and manage your website) to collaborate with multiple people.

When a user joins a project, they're assigned a role as a member of that project.

This article explains how to invite users to a project as members, and how to remove members after they've joined.

Point: What is a role?

A role defines the scope of actions and permissions a user has. Roles are set for each user who joins a project or workspace, and every user is always assigned one of these roles.

For more details about roles, see the following help article:

Number of members you can invite

There's no limit to the number of users you can invite to a single project.

Note: If too many people edit the same project at the same time, performance may become unstable.

Note: Invitation link expiration

The link in an invitation email is valid for 24 hours after it's sent.

If the link has expired, you'll need to cancel the invitation and then send a new invitation email.

  1. From the [Home] section of your dashboard, open the [Members] menu.

Screenshot: Entering the email address to invite.

  2. Click [Invite member] in the upper right, and enter the email address you want to invite.
You can invite users even if they haven't created a Studio.Design account yet.

  3. Choose either "Owner" or "Editor" as the invited user's role. The roles available depend on the role of the person sending the invitation.

  4. Click the [Invite] button.
An invitation email will be sent to the address you entered.

If the invited email address isn't yet registered as a Studio.Design account, the person can create a new account using the link in the email, then join the project.

Note: Can't join the project from the invitation email

If the invited user receives the invitation email but can't join the project using the "START COLLABORATION" button, try the following steps:

  1. Click the account icon and check whether the project appears in the project list.

  2. If the project isn't listed, ask the person who sent the invitation to cancel the invitation and send a new invitation email.

Roles that can be assigned, based on the inviter's role

The roles you can assign when inviting someone depend on your own role in the project.
Regardless of which role you use to invite someone, you can't assign the Payment Owner role at the time of invitation.

  2. Click the three-dot menu, then click [Delete] to cancel the member invitation.
