Adding a form: How to place a form and set up general settings

In Studio.Design, you can add a form to your site by dragging and dropping a form box. Once added, you can customize the design in the editor and combine multiple form parts to fit your needs.

Forms in Studio.Design

With Studio.Design's form feature, you can create, edit, and manage form responses—all within your project. This article covers the basics of using forms in Studio.Design and how to set them up.

Adding a form to your site

Follow these steps to add a form to your page:

  1. Open the Add panel from the navigation on the left side of the screen.

  2. Under the [Basic] tab, choose the form you want from [Form], then drag and drop or click to place it on the page.

There's currently no limit to the number of forms you can create or place on a single page.

Once placed, you can edit the form's fields and design directly in the editor.

For more details, see Editing forms | Studio U.

Again, there's currently no limit to the number of forms you can create or place on a single page.

Setting the form name

The form name is the title used to identify and manage your form on the Form Dashboard. If you have multiple forms on your site, give each one a unique name so you can easily tell them apart.

  1. Select the form box.

  2. Open the [Form] tab in the right panel. If the right panel is closed, open it first.

  3. Edit the [Form name].

Note: The following characters can't be used in form names: % # ? /.

  4. If your site is already published, click [Publish] in the top right to open the Publish panel, then update your site to apply the changes.

Note: Changing the form name

On the Form Dashboard, responses are grouped by form name. After you change a form name, new responses will be tracked under the new name.

Example: If you rename "form 1" to "form 2":

• New responses will be collected under "form 2."

• Previous responses will remain under "form 1."

Setting up a post-submission (thank-you) page

By default, Studio.Design forms show a "Form submitted successfully" message after a user submits the form. You can't change this message, but you can use this setting to direct users to a custom thank-you page instead.

A post-submission page—also known as a thank-you or thanks page—is the page or modal shown to users after they successfully submit a form. It's a great way to suggest a next action or let users know when to expect a reply, helping improve their overall experience.

To set up a thank-you page:

  1. Create a separate page to use as the thank-you page.

  2. Set the page you just created as the form's post-submission page.

For full instructions, see Setting up a thank-you page.
