Point: What is Studio CMS?
Studio.Design CMS is a Content Management System (CMS) feature that lets you structure, manage, and update content right within Studio.Design. By combining models, items, and properties, you can manage frequently updated article content like blogs and news in one place.
For more on how Studio.Design CMS works and how to get started, check out the following articles:
Before you start
The steps in this article assume that you've already created your CMS article content. Make sure you've completed the following:
In the CMS Dashboard, create an article-type model (CMS Model) and CMS article items (CMS Items).
In the Design Editor, use dynamic pages to create an article page linked to the CMS article model you created in step 1.

Add categories and tags to your Studio.Design CMS article content
Point: Using reference properties
When organizing your Studio.Design CMS article content by category or tag, using a reference property that links to another CMS model lets you create article listing pages for each category, as well as related article lists.
Step 1. Create a model for categories and tags
In the CMS Dashboard, add a model to use for your category or tag properties.
For the model type, choose Category type or Custom type.
Add category items to the new category/tag model.
Step 2. Reference the new model as a property on your article items (reference property)
Note: If you plan to use this reference property to show a list of related articles on a CMS article page, be sure to select Single Select.
Open the list of article items you want to categorize or tag.
Click the "+" button and choose [+ Add Property].
From [Reference Model] (reference property) at the bottom of the property list, select the category/tag model you created.
Choose either [Single Select] or [Multi Select].
In general, [Single Select] works best for categories, while [Multi Select] is better suited for tags.
Set the property value for each article item.
Tips: Add categories or tags without increasing your active CMS model count
If your plan has a limit on active CMS models and you want to add labels like categories or tags without using more of them, you can use select-type properties instead of reference properties.
With Select properties or Multi Select properties, you can manage category- or tag-like values directly within a single model.
You can link these properties to a box inside a dynamic element to display them.
However, you can't create dynamically filtered listing pages or related article lists by category or tag, like the ones shown in the articles below:
Make the most of your categories and tags
Once you've added categories and tags as reference properties, you can use them in the Design Editor to create flexible displays like these:
