What are Title and Description?

A site or page can have a title and a description. Each should be concise and clear, with keywords that encourage users to visit the site and provide search engines with an overview of the page.

  • Title: Text that appears in browser tabs and search results lists.

  • Description: This is the summary of the page that appears along with the title in search results and social networking sites.

Note: Titles and descriptions cannot be set for modals.

How to set the title and description

(1) Open the Site Settings panel and Page Settings panel.

With no elements (boxes) selected, open the right panel.

Page settings are edited in the [Page] tab, and site settings are edited in the [Site] tab.

Point: Difference between Site Settings and Page Settings

In Studio, you can set the title and description both on a per-site and per-page basis.

  • Site Settings: Applies to the entire site. If a page has not yet been set, the contents of the Site Settings will be applied to that page.

  • Page settings: Applies to individual pages only and takes precedence over site settings.

(2) Enter the Site Title or Page Title, and Description

Enter appropriate text in the [Site Title] or [Page Title] field. The input contents and number of characters are described below.

Note: Difference between "Page Name" and "Page Title"

Page Name" is the name used to manage the page in the editor and will not appear on the public site. Page Title" is the title that appears on the public site and in search results.

(3) Publish or Update the Site

After entering the information, publish or update the site to reflect the settings.

If you edit information on a published site, it will not be reflected until you update the site.

Note: Delay Before Changes Appear on Your Published Site
Even if you change the meta information after the site is published, it will not be immediately reflected in search results and social networking sites. If you want to speed up the reflection, please check "I changed the title and description after the site was published, but they are not reflected in Google search results.

Input Contents and Number of Characters

There are some points to be aware of in the content and number of characters for the title and description. If the number of characters greatly exceeds the guideline, the title and description may be automatically summarized or abbreviated in the search results, and the intended title and description may not be displayed.

Title

  • Since titles are displayed in browser tabs and search result lists, it is effective to include specific, easy-to-understand words or proper nouns such as place names.

  • Please enter approximately 30 characters in double-byte characters.

Description

  • This is the summary that appears along with the title. Set a description that matches the content of each page.

  • Aim for 70-120 characters in double-byte conversion, and be conscious of placing important keywords at the beginning of the description.

  • If you do not set an appropriate meta description for each page, search engines may automatically excerpt part of the text and display it as a summary.

Tip: Use the AI Feaure to Create Titles and Descriptions.

With the "SEO Writing Assist" feature, AI reads the text information on your site or page and automatically generates a title and meta description. For more information, check Automatic Generation of Site's Title and Description by AI.
