What is a Favicon?
A favicon is an icon that appears in a browser tab or bookmark list to symbolize a site.
Favicons are also applied as cover images when a site is placed on a smartphone's home screen.
Favicons can be set for the entire site or on a page-by-page basis.
Note: Favicons cannot be set for modals.
This article will show you how to set up a favicon.
(1) Open the Site Settings panel and Page Settings panel.
With no elements (boxes) selected, open the right panel.
Page settings are edited in the [Page] tab, and site settings are edited in the [Site] tab.
Point: Difference between Site Settings and Page Settings
In Studio, titles and descriptions can be set both on a per-site and per-page basis.
Site Settings: Applies to the entire site. If a page does not have a Page Setup, the contents of the Site Setup will be applied to that page.
Page settings: Applies to individual pages only and takes precedence over site settings.
(2) Uploading Images
[Under "Favicon," click the Image Upload button and select the image file you wish to use.
Recommended size: 48x48 pixels or larger ( from Google Search Central ).
If the file size is too large, the image may not load properly.
To delete an uploaded image, hover over the image and click the [X] that appears in the upper right corner.
(3) Publish or update the site
After setting or changing images, publish or update your site to reflect the settings. If you change the favicon on a site that has already been published, the changes will not be reflected on the external service until you update the site.
Note: Time lag in reflecting the changes to the published site
If you edit the favicon after the site is published, it may take some time for the changes to be reflected on social networking sites and search engines.
