If you'd like to preview your edits to a CMS article item before publishing, you can use <a href="https://help.studio.design/en/articles/2639164">Live Preview</a>.

Point: What is Live Preview? Live Preview lets you check your edits in a browser before publishing. Note that any content added with <a href="https://help.studio.design/en/articles/7890587">custom code</a> won't appear in Live Preview.

You can preview your article item while editing it in the CMS Dashboard.

Note: Live Preview requires a dynamic page that displays the item

To preview a CMS article item with Live Preview, you'll need a dynamic page (a CMS detail page) that displays that item.

If you haven't created a dynamic page yet, the [Live Preview] button on the CMS Dashboard won't be clickable.

In the <a href="https://help.studio.design/en/articles/5726398">CMS Dashboard</a>, open the <a href="https://help.studio.design/en/articles/4055821#h_0447b14158">item detail screen</a> for the item you want to preview.

Click [Live Preview] in the upper right corner of the screen.

A preview of the article item will open in a new browser tab.

1. In the <a href="https://help.studio.design/en/articles/5726398">CMS Dashboard</a>, open the <a href="https://help.studio.design/en/articles/4055821#h_0447b14158">item detail screen</a> for the item you want to preview.
2. Click [Live Preview] in the upper right corner of the screen.
3. A preview of the article item will open in a new browser tab.

You can preview your page while adjusting and editing its appearance in the Design Editor.

In the <a href="https://help.studio.design/en/articles/4064963">Pages panel</a> of the Design Editor, open the dynamic page that displays the item.

Use the selection menu at the bottom of the left panel to select the article item you want to preview.

If this is your first time using Live Preview, click [Start].
