Key Point: Publish your Studio.Design site with a custom domain
To use a custom domain with your Studio.Design site, follow the steps below in order. For more details, see Publish Your Site with a Custom Domain.
Step 1. Purchase a custom domain from an external service
Step 2. Create a site in Studio.Design and subscribe to a paid plan
Step 3. Prepare for custom domain connection in Studio.Design
Step 4. Configure DNS records in the external service (this article)
This article explains how to configure DNS records (Step 4 above) to connect a domain purchased on Onamae.com to your Studio.Design site.
Before You Begin
The instructions in this article apply to DNS record settings for domains that were newly purchased and are managed on Onamae.com.
If you're switching a domain that's currently connected to another live site over to Studio.Design, please see "Transfer a Custom Domain from Another Service and Migrate Your Website to Studio.Design."
These instructions are intended for users who have already completed Steps 1–3 in "Publish Your Site with a Custom Domain."
Steps to Add DNS Records
Note: DNS record configuration is performed in an external service and is outside the scope of Studio.Design support. For details, please contact Onamae.com. (Last updated: March 2, 2026)
(1) Open the domain settings page
From the Onamae.com top page, log in to "Onamae.com Navi."
In the sidebar, go to [Nameserver/DNS] and open [Domain DNS Settings].
Click the [Domain DNS] button next to the domain you want to configure to open the DNS settings page.
On the DNS settings feature list page, open [DNS Record Settings].
(2) Add and apply Studio.Design's A record to your domain (DNS record settings)
Open the [Add Record] tab.
In the [Input] form, enter Studio.Design's A record using the values shown in the table below.
Hostname | • For a domain without "www": Leave blank |
TYPE | A |
VALUE | 34.111.141.225 |
Tips: Domains with and without "www"
• A domain with "www" and one without "www" are treated as two separate domains.
• Studio.Design only allows one domain to be connected to a website at a time.
Example: If you connect the domain "example.com" (without www) to your Studio.Design site:
• Visiting "example.com": Your site will be displayed.
• Visiting "www.example.com": Your site will not be displayed.
Tips: Auto-fill via external service integration
On the [External Service Integration] tab, select [Studio] to automatically fill in Studio.Design's A record settings (TYPE and VALUE).
3. After entering the values, click the [Add] button on the right side of the row.
The entry you added will appear in the [Add] list, but it has not been applied to the DNS server yet at this point.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and check the box for [Change to DNS record configuration nameservers (01.dnsv.jp / 02.dnsv.jp / 03.dnsv.jp / 04.dnsv.jp) along with registering the record information]. This enables Onamae.com's DNS management feature.
5. Click [Proceed to Confirmation].
*A paid option offer may appear when you click this. If you don't need it, click [Do not configure]. (This is not required for connecting a domain to your Studio.Design site.)
6. On the confirmation screen, verify the following two items. If everything looks correct, click [Apply Settings].
• TYPE: A
• Content: 34.111.141.225
• Status: Active
7. Once the settings are complete, the A record you added will be applied to the DNS server.
Your DNS record configuration is now complete.
(3) Verify that the DNS records have been applied
Use an external DNS record lookup tool to confirm that your A record has been applied correctly.
Example: Using Google Admin Toolbox Dig
Enter your domain in the [Name] field.
If [34.111.141.225] appears in the [DATA] column of the results, your settings have been applied successfully.
The following situations may indicate a problem with your DNS settings:
A different address is displayed
Multiple addresses are displayed
A "No records found!" message is displayed
If this happens, please refer to "Troubleshooting Custom Domain Connection and Publishing Issues > How to Check Your DNS Record Settings."
Tip: You can also check DNS record propagation status with other tools like DNS Checker.
Once you've confirmed that your DNS records have been applied, proceed to Step 5 in "Publish Your Site with a Custom Domain" to verify the domain connection status in Studio.Design.
