Point: Publishing your Studio.Design site with a custom domain
To use a custom domain with your Studio.Design site, follow these steps in order. For more details, see Publish Your Site with a Custom Domain.
Step 1. Get a custom domain from an external service
Step 2. Create a site in Studio.Design and subscribe to a paid plan
Step 3. Prepare your custom domain connection in Studio.Design
Step 4. Configure DNS records with your external service (this article)
This article explains how to configure DNS records to connect a domain purchased through Sakura Domain to your Studio.Design site, as described in Step 4 above.
Before You Begin
The instructions in this article apply to DNS record configuration for domains that were newly purchased and are managed through Sakura Domain.
If you're switching a domain that's currently connected to a live site over to Studio.Design, see Migrate Your Website to Studio.Design with an Existing Custom Domain.
These instructions are intended for users who have already completed Steps 1–3 in Publish Your Site with a Custom Domain.
How to Add DNS Records
Note: DNS record configuration is performed on an external service and is outside the scope of Studio.Design support. For further assistance, please contact Sakura Domain directly. (Last updated: February 27, 2026)
(1) Open the Settings Page for Your Domain
Log in to Sakura Internet.
From [Contracted Domain List], open [Domain Control Panel].
In the [Sakura Domain List], click [Zone] for the domain you want to configure.
(2) Add and Apply the Studio.Design A Record to Your Domain (DNS Record Setup)
Under [Configure in Sakura DNS (Advanced Settings)], click [Add and Configure].
In the [Zone Information] record settings screen, click [Edit].
In the [Add Record] input fields, enter the A record specified by Studio.Design as shown in the table below. ※You don't need to change [DNS Check] or [TTL].
Entry Name | ・For "without www": Enter |
Type | IP Address (A) |
Data | 34.111.141.225 |
Tips: Domains with and without www
・A domain with www and one without www are treated as two separate domains.
・Studio.Design only allows one domain to be connected to a website.
Example: If you connect the non-www domain "example.com" to your Studio.Design site and publish it:
・Visiting "example.com": Your site will be displayed.
・Visiting "www.example.com": Your site will not be displayed.
4. Click [Add].
5. Confirm that your entry appears in the [Record Settings] list, then click [Save]. Your DNS record setup is now complete.
(3) Verify That Your DNS Records Have Propagated
Use an external DNS lookup tool to confirm that your A record has been applied correctly.
Example: Using Google Admin Toolbox Dig
Enter your domain in the [Name] field.
If [34.111.141.225] appears in the [DATA] column of the results, your settings have been applied successfully.
If you see any of the following, there may be an issue with your DNS settings:
A different address is displayed
Multiple addresses are displayed
A "No records found!" message appears
In that case, refer to Troubleshooting Custom Domain Connection and Publishing Issues > How to Check Your DNS Record Settings.
Tip: You can also check DNS record propagation using DNS Checker.
Once you've confirmed that your DNS records have propagated, proceed to Step 5 in Publish Your Site with a Custom Domain to verify the domain connection status in Studio.Design.
