How to Make Your Site Private (Unpublish)
A site in Studio.Design can be made private so it's completely inaccessible—from its URL, visitors will only see a 404 page. This guide walks through how to unpublish your live site, shares tips for page-level privacy, explains how to put your site back online, and outlines special steps for custom domains.
Steps:
Open your project in Studio.Design.
In the dashboard, go to [Project Settings], then select [Publish Settings] to open the publishing panel.
Click [Unpublish].
Read any notice shown, then click [Unpublish] again in the confirmation modal.
Once complete, checking your site’s URL should display a 404 page
Note About Page-Level Privacy
If you only want to hide specific pages (not your entire site), use Page Visibility in Page Settings. This lets you make individual pages private from visitors and search engines.
Republishing Your Site
If you want your site to be public again, use the usual Publish Site operation from the dashboard. Your site will be restored and visible at its URL.
For Custom Domains
When using a custom domain, you’ll need to re-issue and reconnect your TLS certificate. After re-enabling publishing and updating your domain settings, changes may take up to 72 hours to take full effect.
