Use email with the same domain as your site

You may be able to use email on your site's domain by pointing your MX records to an external email service.

Using email accounts with your custom domain

Studio.Design doesn't offer an email service, so if you want to use email addresses (email accounts) with the custom domain you've published on Studio.Design, you'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Sign up for an external email service.

  2. Add the required records in the DNS settings of your domain registrar.

How to configure DNS records

In most cases, you'll set up your records like this.

With this setup, you can run your website and email on separate services using the same domain. The exact settings depend on the email service you use, so please reach out to your email service's support team for details.

  • Website: A record (points to the Studio.Design IP address)

  • Email service: MX record (points to your external email service's mail server)

Migrating a site with a custom domain to Studio.Design

If your website (for example, example.com) and email (for example, john@example.com) are hosted on the same service, take extra care when migrating to Studio.Design.

Depending on your current service, email may work even if you haven't manually set up an MX record. In that case, if you only change the A record to Studio.Design's IP address (34.111.141.225) during migration, your website will move to Studio.Design, but you may no longer be able to send or receive email.

If you'd like to keep using email with the same custom domain as your website, you'll need to sign up for an email service that supports MX records and migrate your email account settings to it.

Before migrating to Studio.Design, check your current setup and plan the move accordingly.
