What is noindex?
"noindex" is a setting that tells search engines not to display a page in search results. Even if a page has noindex set, anyone who knows the URL can still access it directly via a link.
By setting noindex on specific pages, you can maintain the quality of information shown to users who find your site through search results, which can help improve your overall SEO performance.
Note: Setting noindex does not control access by AI crawlers.
"noindex" vs. "Unpublished"
There are two ways to keep a specific page from appearing in search results: setting the page to "noindex" or setting the page to "Unpublished."
Item | Page with noindex | Page set to "Unpublished" |
Search results | Not displayed | Not displayed |
Direct URL access | Accessible | Not accessible — a 404 page is displayed |
Use case | SEO optimization | Completely hide the page |

How to set a page to noindex
Open the page settings panel. Make sure no elements (boxes) are selected, then open the right panel and go to the [Page Settings] tab for the page you want to update.
Turn on [noindex].
After making your changes, publish or update your site to apply them. The noindex setting won't take effect on your live site until you do this.
