Key Concepts
With the CMS feature, you can manage design and content separately. This makes it easy to create multiple pages that share the same design but have different content.
For example, if you're building an announcements page for a company website, here's how the management screens and tasks break down:
Management Screen | What You Do |
CMS Dashboard | Manage the actual content displayed on the page (dates, titles, body text, images, etc.) |
Design Editor | Create the page layout (placement of headings, body text, images, etc.) and design |
By combining the layout you create in the Design Editor with the content you manage in the CMS Dashboard, you can generate multiple pages that share the same structure but feature different content.
In the following sections, we'll walk through the details of each screen.
The Content Management Screen
In the CMS Dashboard, content is organized into four categories.
For example, if you're using the CMS to publish announcements and portfolio pieces on your website, here's how they're managed:
Model: A group such as "Announcements" or "Works"
Item: An individual entry within a model (e.g., a single announcement or piece of work)
Property: Additional details attached to an item, like the publish date, author info, or cover image
Collection: A feature that lets you curate a selection of specific items within a model
The Layout and Design Screen
Layouts and designs are created in the Design Editor. You then link the data managed in the CMS Dashboard to display it within your design.
After linking the data, you can use the toggle in the top-left corner of the screen to switch between different pages (items).
This way, you can create multiple pages at once that share the same layout but display different text and images.
