Changing whether your connected domain uses "www"
Background: The following two domains are treated as separate domains.
・www.example.com (subdomain)
・example.com (root domain)
How Studio.Design works: In Studio.Design, only one domain can be connected to each site (project).
For this reason, adding or removing "www." from your URL is treated the same as changing your site's domain. For example: "www.example.com" ⇔ "example.com"
Please note:
Once you change your site's domain, the previous domain will no longer be accessible.
After you connect a new domain to Studio.Design, it takes some time before the site can be accessed through that domain.
If you want to minimize the period when your site is inaccessible (downtime), please refer to the article "How to achieve zero downtime when migrating your website to Studio.Design."
How to add or remove "www." from your custom domain
After purchasing your preferred domain (with or without "www") from an external domain registrar, follow the steps below.
Click the [Publish] button in the upper right of the editor to open the Publish panel.
Click [Custom Domain Settings].
Enter the domain you want to connect and click [OK].
Copy the A record shown (for example: A 34.111.141.225).
In the DNS record settings of your domain service, add the copied value as an A record. (This step is done on the external service.)
Return to the Studio.Design Publish panel and check the connection status between your domain and Studio.Design's servers.
Wait for Studio.Design to automatically issue a TLS certificate to enable encrypted communication.
