What is alt text?
Alt text is important information that conveys the content of an image to web crawlers and screen readers. From an SEO perspective, setting this information is also very important.
Alt text can only be set for image boxes in Img mode.
Point: Box mode and Img mode for image boxes
Image boxes have two modes: "Box mode" and "Img mode." The way images are handled and the features you can set differ depending on the mode.
For details about each mode and how to use them, see the Image box: Box mode and Img mode page.
Setting alt text for an image box
Select the image you want to set alt text for.
If the selected image is in Box mode, switch it to Img mode.
Select the [Image] tab in the right panel.
If the panel is closed, open the right panel.
Enter the alt text in the [Alt text] field.
Setting alt text for images in list items
If you set alt text for an image inside a list item using the same method described above, the same alt text will be applied to the images in all list items.
To set a unique alt text for each list item's image, follow the steps below.
(1) Register the alt text to use
Select the entire list.
Open the [Data] tab in the right panel. If the right panel is closed, open it.
Click the [+] at the top right of the property management table and add a [Text] property.
Enter the text you want to use as alt text. Renaming the property from "Text" to something like "Alt text" makes it easier to manage.
(2) Pull the alt text into the alt text field
Select the image box inside a list item.
Open the [Image] tab in the right panel. If the right panel is closed, open it.
Click the [Alt text] input field and select the [Alt text] property you created in step (1). The alt text (text property) for each list item will be applied as the alt text.
You can also type text directly into the field and combine it with the property's text. Any text you enter will be shared across all list items.
Once set, the changes will be applied to all list items within the same list.
