File upload overview
The maximum file size you can upload is 1 GB per file.
For details on supported file formats and storage limits by plan, see Supported file formats and size limits in the Studio.Design Editor.
Uploading files
Uploaded files are stored in the Assets panel, which is shared between the Editor and the CMS Dashboard. You can upload files to the Assets panel using either of the following methods.
How to upload files
Drag and drop files directly onto the Editor screen or CMS editing screen
Add files from the Upload panel in the Editor or CMS
Note: You cannot upload video files through Figma to Studio.

Drag and drop files onto the screen.
Adding files from the Upload panel
Select the [Upload] icon
in the left navigation to open the Upload panel.
You can also open the Upload panel by double-clicking an image box or video box on the screen.
Click the [+] at the top of the panel, then select [Upload File] and choose the file you want to add.
Renaming a file
In the Upload panel, double-click a file name to edit it.
Deleting files
File deletion rules
When you delete a file, it's first moved to the Trash.
To permanently remove it from your project, delete it from the Trash as well.
Files deleted from the Trash cannot be recovered, even with the Version History feature.
Deleting a single file
In the Upload panel, hover over the thumbnail of the file you want to delete.
Click the trash icon that appears to delete it.
Tips: The delete button won't appear in the Upload panel if you opened it by double-clicking a box that's already placed on the page.
Deleting multiple files at once
In the Upload panel, select multiple files you want to delete.
Click the trash icon in the blue bar that appears at the bottom of the panel to delete them all at once.
Deleting files from the Trash
In the folder selector at the top left of the Upload panel, select [Trash].
Select the file (or folder) you want to delete.
Click the blue bar at the bottom of the panel.
Click [Delete Permanently] to remove the file from the Trash.
Viewing, sorting, and searching files
Use the search bar and the icons next to it in the Upload panel to change the view, sort files, or search for them.

Type a file name or folder name in the search bar to quickly find what you're looking for.

You can switch between panel view and list view.
Sorting files
You can sort files by oldest first or newest first.
Filtering by file type
Filter the files shown in the panel by type. You can choose from "All," "Images," "Videos," or "PDF."
Tips: You can also filter by file type by selecting the [All Types], [Images], [Videos], or [PDF] icons at the top of the panel.
Managing and moving folders
Creating a folder
Select the [Upload] icon
in the left navigation to open the Upload panel.You can also open the Upload panel by double-clicking an image box or video box on the screen.
Click the [+] at the top of the panel, then select [Create Folder].
A new folder named [NewFolder] is created.
You can store any type of file in the same folder.
Renaming a folder
In the Upload panel, select and open the folder you want to rename.
Click the folder name at the top of the panel (it reads [NewFolder] for newly created folders) to activate the input field.
Deleting a folder
When you delete a folder, it's first moved to the Trash.
Deleting it from the Trash permanently removes it from your project.

You can upload files using the [Upload File] button or the [+] at the top of the panel.
To move files that have already been uploaded into a folder, drag and drop them.
Changing a file's folder location
Tips: You can drag and drop a single file to move it within the same level. However, drag and drop isn't available when multiple files are selected.
Hover over the file and check the box in the top left of the thumbnail.
Click the move-to-folder icon in the blue bar at the bottom of the panel, then select the destination folder.
