Import and export sheets with Studio.Assistant

With the Pro plan for Studio.Assistant, you can export your site's overview, text, and page structure as sheets, edit them in a spreadsheet app, and import them back. Here's a look at the three sheet types and what you can edit in each.

With the Pro plan for Studio.Assistant, you can manage your site overview, text, and page structure all at once using three types of sheets: the questionnaire sheet, the text input sheet, and the sitemap sheet.

All three can be exported as Excel (.xlsx) files, edited in a spreadsheet app, and then imported back in. This is handy when you want to replace a large amount of text at once, or review your site structure as a whole.

This article explains how each sheet is organized and which parts you can edit.

Note: Importing and exporting sheets is a Pro plan feature. It isn't available on the Starter plan. For the differences between plans, see "Managing your Studio.Assistant plan."

Point: Importing and exporting sheets is just one part of Studio.Assistant. For the full flow from generating a site to editing it, see "Generating a site with Studio.Assistant."

Sheet types and how to import and export

You can import and export all three sheet types using [Export] and [Import] in the upper-right corner of the screen.

The steps for exporting and importing are the same for all three sheets.

  1. Select [Export].

  2. Choose the sheet you want and export the file.

  3. Open the file in a spreadsheet app and edit the editable columns.

  4. Select [Import].

  5. Choose the sheet you want and import the file.

Note: Each sheet includes columns marked "Do not edit" or "Internal data (do not change)." These columns contain question IDs and validation data, so editing them will prevent the file from being imported. Don't delete or reorder rows or columns either.

Editing your site overview in the questionnaire sheet

You can edit everything you'd normally enter in the form, all in one sheet. There are 28 questions, organized into 12 groups.

How the sheet is organized

The only column you edit is "Content."

Values for multiple-choice questions

For multiple-choice questions, enter one of the set options exactly as written. Here are the options for the four required items:

Website category

Corporate site / Service site / Landing page / Recruiting site / Event site / Shop site / Portfolio site / Hotel site / Coworking or facility site / Gym or fitness site / Clinic site / Restaurant site / Beauty site / Other

Content balance

Note: For content balance and promotional tone, the number at the end is part of the option. Entering just "Balanced," for example, won't be applied.

Replacing text with the text input sheet

Export all the text on your site at once, then import your edits. Each page has its own sheet (for example, 01_Home and 02_About).

The path of the page appears at the top of the sheet (for example, /about). Don't edit this row either.

The "Guideline" column shows counts such as 10, 100, or 1,000 characters. These are meant to keep your design from breaking, so try not to go far over them.

Things to keep in mind when editing text

  • To add a line break, type <br> where you want the break to appear.

  • If you don't need an item at all, don't delete the row — just note that in the "Content" column.

  • Only rows with a matching "Item name" will be applied.

Note: Adding rows won't create new text. The text input sheet is only for replacing existing text.

Editing your page structure with the sitemap sheet

Edit your page structure and section order in a single sheet. Each column is one page, and the rows correspond to the page name, path, and sections.

Don't edit the headings and numbers in column A. Each column from B onward represents one page.

Note: A single sheet can hold up to 127 pages.
