Tip: Publishing your Studio.Design site with a custom domain
To use a custom domain with your Studio.Design site, follow the steps below in order. For more details, see Publish your site with a custom domain.
Step 1. Get a custom domain from an external service
Step 2. Create your site in Studio.Design and subscribe to a paid plan
Step 3. Prepare your custom domain connection in Studio.Design
Step 4. Configure DNS records with the external service (this article)
This article walks you through Step 4 above, explaining how to configure DNS records to connect a domain registered with Sakura Domain to your Studio.Design site.
Before you start
The steps in this article apply to DNS record settings for domains newly registered and managed through Sakura Domain.
If you want to switch a domain that's already connected to a live site over to Studio.Design, see "Move your website to Studio.Design while keeping your custom domain from another service."
This guide is for users who have already completed Steps 1–3 of "Publish your site with a custom domain."
How to add a DNS record
Note: DNS record settings are configured through an external service, so they fall outside of Studio.Design's support. For details, please contact Sakura Domain. (Last updated: February 27, 2026)
(1) Open the settings page for your domain
Log in to Sakura Internet.
From [Active Domains], open the [Domain Control Panel].
In the [Sakura Domain List], click [Zone] next to the domain you want to configure.
(2) Add Studio.Design's A record to your domain (DNS record settings)
Under [Configure with Sakura's DNS (Advanced settings)], click [Add and configure].
On the record settings screen under [Zone Information], click [Edit].
In the [Add Record] fields, enter the A record specified by Studio.Design as shown in the table below. ※ You don't need to change [DNS Check] or [TTL].
Entry Name | ・For a domain without "www": enter |
Type | IP Address (A) |
Data | 34.111.141.225 |
Tip: Domains with and without "www"
・A domain with "www" and one without are treated as two separate domains.
・In Studio.Design, only one domain can be connected to a website.
Example: If you connect "example.com" (without "www") to your Studio.Design site and publish it:
・Visiting "example.com": the site will display.
・Visiting "www.example.com": the site won't display.
4. Click [Add].
5. Confirm that your entry appears in the [Record Settings] list, then click [Save]. Your DNS record settings are now complete.
(3) Check whether your DNS record has propagated
Use an external DNS record lookup tool to confirm that the A record you set has propagated correctly.
Example: Checking with Google Admin Toolbox Dig
Enter your domain in the [Name] field.
If [34.111.141.225] appears in the [DATA] column of the results, your settings have propagated correctly.
There may be an issue with your DNS settings if you see any of the following:
A different IP address is shown
Multiple IP addresses are shown
"Record not found!" is shown
If that happens, see "Troubleshooting custom domain connection and publishing issues > How to check your DNS record status."
For reference: You can also check DNS record propagation with another tool, DNS Checker.
Once you've confirmed that the DNS record has propagated, move on to Step 5 of "Publish your site with a custom domain" to confirm the domain connection status in Studio.Design.
