Tip: Publishing your Studio.Design site with a custom domain
To use a custom domain with your Studio.Design site, follow the steps below in order. For more details, see Publish your site with a custom domain.
Step 1. Get a custom domain from an external service
Step 2. Create a site in Studio.Design and subscribe to a paid plan
Step 3. Prepare for the custom domain connection in Studio.Design
Step 4. Configure DNS records on the external service (this article)
This article explains how to configure DNS records for Step 4 above, specifically for connecting a domain you obtained through Muumuu Domain to your Studio.Design site.
Before you start
The steps in this article apply to DNS record settings for domains newly registered and managed through Muumuu Domain.
If you want to switch a domain that's currently connected to another live site over to your Studio.Design site, see "Move your website to Studio.Design while keeping your custom domain from another service."
This guide is for users who have completed Steps 1–3 in "Publish your site with a custom domain."
How to add a DNS record
Note: DNS record settings are configured on an external service, so they're outside of Studio.Design's support. For details, please contact Muumuu Domain. (Last updated: February 27, 2026)
(1) Open the settings page for your domain
Log in to Muumuu Domain.
Open the control panel from your account menu.
In the sidebar, open [Domain List] from the [Domain Operations] menu.
Click the domain name you want to set up.
In the control panel, check the [Name Server Settings] section and make sure the [Service] field is set to [Muumuu DNS].
(2) Add Studio.Design's A record to your domain (DNS record setup)
Click [Setup] under Muumuu DNS for your target domain.
On the [Change Muumuu DNS Setup Info] screen, click [Custom Settings].
Once you switch to custom settings, [Setting 2] will appear.
Click [Go to Setting 2], then proceed to [Add Setting].
The [Add Custom DNS Setting] screen appears.
Add the A record specified by Studio.Design using the values in the table below.
Subdomain | • For a domain without "www": leave blank |
Type | A |
Value | 34.111.141.225 |
Tip: Domains with and without "www"
• A domain with "www" and one without are treated as completely separate domains.
• In Studio.Design, only one domain can be connected to a website.
Example: If you connect the domain "example.com" (without "www") to your Studio.Design site and publish it:
• Visiting "example.com": the site will display.
• Visiting "www.example.com": the site won't display.
6. Click [Add Setting].
7. If the following information is reflected, your DNS record setup is complete.
• Type: A
• Value: 34.111.141.225
(3) Confirm that your DNS record has propagated
Use an external DNS record checker to confirm that the A record you set up is properly reflected.
Example: Checking with Google Admin Toolbox Dig
Enter your domain in the [Name] field.
If [34.111.141.225] appears in the [DATA] column of the results, your settings have been applied correctly.
There may be an issue with your DNS setup in the following cases:
A different address is shown
Multiple addresses are shown
"No records found!" is displayed
If this happens, see "Troubleshooting custom domain connection and publishing issues > How to check your DNS record settings."
Tip: You can also use other tools like DNS Checker to check DNS record propagation.
Once you've confirmed that your DNS record has propagated, move on to Step 5 in "Publish your site with a custom domain" and check the domain connection status in Studio.Design.
