What to do if you accidentally delete a page or part of a design in the editor

If you accidentally delete a page or design data in your project, you may be able to recover it using the Undo button or by restoring a previous version. Here's how.

If you accidentally delete a page or part of your design in the editor, you may be able to recover it using one of the methods below.

1. Use the Undo feature to reverse the action

You can reverse (undo) your most recent action using the Undo feature.

  1. Click the [/S] icon in the top-left corner of the editor.

  2. From the dropdown menu, click Undo or Redo.

(If the option is grayed out, that action isn't available.)

You can also use a keyboard shortcut:

    • Mac: ⌘+Z

    • Windows: Ctrl+Z

2. Restore from version history

Use the Version Management feature, which keeps track of design changes across your entire site, to check if your data is still available. If a version from the point you want to revert to exists, you can restore it.

Note:

  • Version history restores apply to the entire site. Since Studio.Design doesn't support saving or restoring individual pages, restoring will also affect changes made to pages other than the one you want to revert.

  • Versions are saved automatically based on the number of actions taken, as well as manually saved versions. As a result, a version from the exact point you want may not be available.

  1. Click the history icon at the bottom of the left navigation panel.

  2. The version history will open in the right panel.

If the panel is closed, open the right panel first.

  3. Select the version you want to restore.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • From the three-dot menu, select [Restore this version].

    • Click the [Restore] button on the screen.

For more details, see the Version Management article.
