To limit who can view your site's content, you can create a password page. This way, visitors will need to provide the correct password to access your site.

The password page can be designed to match your site's overall style and branding. This gives you the flexibility to create custom designs for membership sites or private portfolios that are not intended for public viewing.

Note: Currently, it is not possible to set up password protection on a per-page basis.

If you close the browsing app while viewing a password-protected site, the authentication will be cancelled. Once cancelled, you will need to enter the password again.

Activating password protection

Only members with owner permissions can configure password protection settings.

  1. Add a Password page with a password entry form You can add a password page by clicking the "Add Page" button or by changing the Page Type of an existing page within your project to "Password Page."

  2. Design your password page

*The password page does not support dynamic lists (CMS/RSS/API). These lists will not be displayed on the published site even if you place them on the Editor.
*If you accidentally delete the password input form, you can add it again from the form parts.

  3. Go to the Project dashboard and open Password Protection settings

  4. Select "Protect your public site with a password" and enter a desired password. Passwords must be 8-30 characters long.

  5. Once you have activated password protection, publish your site. If your site is already published, update to reflect the changes on your public site.

The page displayed after entering the password is the page that is set as the Home page type. If there is no "Home" page in your project, the page at the top of the page panel will be displayed.

Disabling password protection

  1. Access the project dashboard and select "Do not impose viewing restrictions on the website" from the Password Protection settings. Then, save your changes.

  2. Once your changes are saved, password protection will be disabled. Note, the site will also be set to "private", so you will need to manually "publish" it again as necessary.

Note that disabling password protection will turn the password page to "private." For more information on private pages, see here.

Changing your password

  1. To change or reset your password, go to the Password Protection settings on your dashboard. Enter your new password and save the changes.

  2. Publish your site to reflect the password change.
*Please note that updating your site will refresh the entire site with the latest design changes. If you have made any design edits, be sure to proceed with caution.

Please note

  • In sites with password protection, only the password page is included in the sitemap. This allows search engines to crawl only the password page.

  • Each project can only have one password page. To change the design of a published password page, you can either make changes to the published page or duplicate it and design the duplicate. After designing the page, change the page type and update your site.

  • If you downgrade to the Mini plan, make sure to disable password protection. If you leave password protection enabled and downgrade, your site will automatically become private.
