■ What is a CMS List?
A CMS List is a dynamic list linked to internal content data from Studio.Design CMS.
For an overview and instructions on how to use it, refer to the CMS List help article.
When setting a different external link for each list item in a CMS List, you'll use a CMS Property to configure it. This setup is done in the CMS Dashboard.
Tips: What happens if you set an external link on a CMS List without using a property
If you set a link from the Link menu in the Box settings tab without using a property, the same URL will be applied to every item in the same CMS model.
1. Add a property
Open the target CMS model in the CMS Dashboard and add a text property.
A text property handles text values and can also be used to store URLs for external links.
2. Enter the URL
In the column for the text property you just added, enter the URL of the external page you want each CMS item to link to.
3. Set the link in the Design Editor
Open the Design Editor, then select one list item inside the CMS List where you want to set the external link, and double-click it.
Open the [Box] tab in the right panel.
If the panel is closed, open the right panel first.
Click the input field in the [Link] settings menu.
Click [+] and select the text property where you entered the URLs in step 2.
4. Test and update your site
Use Live Preview to click each item and confirm that it correctly takes you to the external URL you set for that item.
If you're editing a site that's already published, make sure to update your site.
