Page Type: Home

Learn how to set up the "Home" page type, which serves as your site's top page, and what happens when it's not configured.

Point: What are page types?

In Studio.Design, you select a page type when creating a new page. Choose the appropriate page type based on the purpose of the page.

For details on each page type, see Page Types.

The "Home" page type is the top page of your site — it's what visitors see when they access a URL without a path (e.g., https://studio.inc).

When no "Home" page type is set

If no page is set to the "Home" page type, the page at the top of the Page Panel will be treated as the home page by default.
If you want a specific page to be your top page, check the page type and order, and adjust the settings as needed.

Setting up a "Home" page

There are two ways to set a page as "Home."

Set the page type to Home

  1. Click the page icon in the navigation to open the Page Panel.

  2. Select the page you want to set as Home.

  3. Click the toggle icon in the upper-right area of the screen to open the right panel.

  4. Select the [Page] tab in the right panel.

  5. Click the [Type] field and select [Home] from the dropdown.

If the page you set to [Home] has a URL path, the path will be removed automatically.

Clear the path field

  1. Click the page icon in the navigation to open the Page Panel.

  2. Select the page you want to set as Home.

  3. Click the toggle icon in the upper-right area of the screen to open the right panel.

  4. Select the [Page] tab in the right panel.

  5. Leave the [Path] field empty.

Important note when a Home page already exists

If a page is already set as the "Home" page type and you want to assign a different page as the new home page, keep the following in mind:

  • First, change the current home page's type to another type, such as [Page].

  • Then, change the desired page's type to "Home," or clear its path field to set it as the home page.
