Box nesting depth limit

When building complex designs with nested boxes in Studio.Design, we recommend keeping the structure within 11 levels to avoid unintended data issues. This article also explains how to resolve errors related to box parent-child relationships.

Nesting limit

When creating complex designs, we recommend keeping your structure within 11 levels to help prevent unintended data loss.

Studio.Design's system limit for nested boxes is 12 levels, but the actual limit may vary slightly depending on your site's design structure and any additional styles applied.

Box limit error message

When you reach the box nesting limit, an error message will appear saying "Unable to save data because the maximum nesting depth for boxes has been exceeded." You won't be able to create any further nested structures.

The error message appears when data is being saved or loaded, not at the moment the limit is exceeded. Please note that any design data beyond the limit won't be saved.

What to do when you reach the limit

If you see the error message, check your structure in the Layers panel. Consider ungrouping any unnecessary nested elements or reviewing your layout structure to reduce the number of levels.
